MIGHTY Climate Action Projects

MIGHTY Climate Action Projects

We love being able to proudly design such low impact products, but – as with anything – our products do still have some carbon emissions, and we are taking responsibility for those emissions.

With the help of Climate Partner, we were able to confidently measure and compensate for the emissions we’re still producing by supporting carbon offset projects – making our Mighty M.lks carbon neutral.

We've chosen our offsetting projects, they avoid, reduce or remove carbon from the atmosphere whilst supporting local communities to improve their quality of life, and are verified by international standards to do so.

What projects have you chosen?

Forest Protection, Pará, Brazil

It is a special and unique ecosystem, the "Várzea" in Pará on the Brazilian Amazon estuary. The island of Marajó is crossed by waterways, for centuries the landscape has been shaped by small farmers. As a transport artery, the Amazon favours agriculture and livestock breeding - which in turn results in more and more deforested areas. On more than 86,000 hectares, the Ecomapuá project protects the forest and prohibits commercial deforestation. It creates alternative sources of income for residental families, for example by trading the açaí fruit.

Clean Drinking Water, Odisha, India

In India, more than two million children die from cholera or typhoid fever each year. Such diseases are spread mainly through drinking water. But only 32 percent of households in India have access to treated water. A simple and affordable supply of safe drinking water can do a lot here. That is why this project organises the chemical treatment of water using chlorine. The chloride solution is made on site, and the water is conveniently available in small village shops or delivered to people's homes.

Clean Drinking Water, Kasungu, Malawi

This Micro-Scale Voluntary Project Activity, in Kasungu, Malawi provides safe drinking water to communities reducing the need to boil water as a means of purification through the repair of damaged and the drilling of additional new boreholes in the Traditional Authorities (TA) of Santhe and Kawamba located in Kasungu District. By providing safe water, the project will ensure that households consume less firewood during the process of water purification and as a result there shall be a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from the combustion process.
